Murray's Cheese Serves Up Success with SuiteRetail

Murray's Cheese, founded in 1940, is an iconic NYC specialty cheese shop and grocery with flagship locations in Greenwich Village and the bustling Grand Central Station. With over 350 locations throughout the USA, Murray's was in need of a retail management suite to help run their entire business on one platform. Murray's chose NetSuite and SuiteRetail to take advantage of a single system of record delivering a centralized view of customers, promotions, and products, irrespective of channel.

Over the past decade, Murray's has rapidly expanded their business, being named "Best Cheese Shop in New York" by Time Out New York Magazine in 2007, opening a wine-bar and restaurant named Murray's Cheese Bar in 2012, and partnering with Kroger Company to include Murray's cheese stands in all Kroger Co. grocery stores.

While operating at such a high volume, Murray's required both a point of sale system to manage their daily sales transactions along with an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system to manage their finance, inventory, supply chain, ecommerce, marketing, and more. 

SuitePOS, built for NetSuite, offered Murray's everything they were looking for to run their storefronts, and entire business on a single platform in the cloud, replacing their current Quickbooks and Microsoft RMS system.

SuiteRetail and NetSuite were able to provide Murray's with inventory management, advanced item level promotion handling, complex tax management (using Avatax), gift cards, and multi-company consolidation.

SuitePOS, which is also integrated with Square Payments, allows Murray's to quickly and easily process credit card payments using aesthetically pleasing hardware. The added bonus is that Square's transaction rate uses a simple model with no hidden fees and is very competitive with confusingly priced traditional payment gateways and merchant bank models. 

The upgraded system resulted in a seamless and easy-to-use platform with full integration to customer management, supply chain and finance - all which supports an exceptional customer experience and high transaction throughout for peak shopping times.
